Terms of use

Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Lawrence Karchner ("we", "us") for using The Golden Blink. Please read them along with our privacy policy.

Effective October 13, 2026.

Using the app

By using The Golden Blink you agree to these terms. If you downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play, their terms for apps also apply (for the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement).

The app is for adults: parents, guardians and family caregivers who are 18 or older, or the age of majority where they live.

Your account and your family

Your content

Everything you add (moments, photos, videos, voice notes and letters) belongs to you. You give us permission to store, copy, sync and back it up, and to show it to you and the family members you invite, only as needed to run the app. We don’t use your content for advertising or to train artificial intelligence.

Only add content you have the right to share, and respect the privacy of the people in it. Don’t use the app to store or share anything illegal.

Keep your own copies

We work hard to keep your journal safe, but no service is perfect. Keep your own copies of what matters most. The app can save the photos and videos you take to your phone’s gallery.

Subscriptions and the free trial

Fair use

Don’t try to get into another family’s journal, interfere with the service, overload it, or copy or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.

Changes and availability

We keep improving the app, so features may change. The service may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. If we ever stop offering Family & backup, we’ll give you notice and your journal will stay on your phone.

Ending

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if the law requires it.

Disclaimers and limits

We provide the app "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data you could have kept a copy of. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.

Apple

If you use the app on an Apple device: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for the app or its content, or for claims about it, including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, and claims that it infringes someone’s rights. If the app fails to meet a warranty, you can notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, except where the law where you live says otherwise.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app for important changes. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
